We've been thrilled with the success we've had with MetaMAM in the first half year of its existence. We have a number of installs here in the US, with dozens of sales pending. We also saw incredible response at IBC 2012 with its "cousin" products. The software was demonstrated in Apple's private briefing rooms, and publicly at Adobe's stand as well.
We also received a very clear message from the marketplace at IBC, both from third party vendors as well as potential customers. There was a general sense of confusion about the multiple variants of the products all derived from Cantemo's MediaBox. Were they the same product? Were they compatible with each other? Would they run each other's apps, themes and extensions?
To that end, today we're announcing, along with our partners at Cantemo and other integrators around the world, that the new name of the software is Cantemo Portal™. This will be the software's worldwide branding, and will help us to strengthen the message of its unified underpinnings.
We want to emphatically stress that this is a branding name change only. Here in the US, Portal™ will be available through the same strong consortium of authorized integration partners. These partners have been hand-selected by Meta Media to provide best-in-class consultation, integration and customization services for the product. On the east coast, we are proud to have Control Group represent Portal™. In the midwest, 1303 Systems has been the early leader in number of integrations. In the mountain range, GW Hannaway and Associates brings a strong portfolio of previous Final Cut Server and shared storage integrations to the table. And out west, North Shore Automation rounds our the list to form a nationwide consortium of excellence.
Next up, Portal™ version 1.4 will be released soon, with the often-requested feature of Quantum StorNext compatibility (so it can mount Xsan volumes).
We're happy to announce the immediate availability of our first app designed to ease the transition for Final Cut Server users. ScriptRunner™ will allow Portal™ to run external executables in the exact same manner as Final Cut Server: firing from specific metadata changes and handing off metadata fields. This will allow you to transition all of your diligent scripting work for Final Cut Server directly into your new Portal™ install.
We're also pleased to announce that our dear colleague André Aulich has formed a new company in order to market the apps he is building for Cantemo Portal™. The company is called moosystems. At this site, you can get more information about their Final Cut Server migration tool, called CP Migration Tool, their interface for Archiware PresSTORE integration and other disk based archive schemes, entitled CP Archive App, and a sneak peek at the super-exciting file system event "listener" app called CP Media Detection. These apps will round out the tools needed to transition your Final Cut Server into Portal™ seamlessly and quickly. Meta Media and our authorized integration partners for Portal™ will of course be able to sell you any of tools from moosystems.
Don't forget to visit our daughter site dedicated to introducing Portal™. You can find it at www.mmct.com/portal.
However, to really see the strength of the system and to preview some of its standard media tools, you need a personal, one-on-one demo. We'd love to make an appointment with you to do this. Contact us today to schedule your appointment.
As time passes after you market your product and see that it is successful, the business may realize that it can reap more fruit if the name chosen was different from the one actually chosen. Rebranding can have a very positive impact on revenue and profits and it can lead to the business expanding into new territory. I believe that the name Cantemo Portal is more catchy than MetaMam, and so the decision to switch the name was a wise one.
